Living local

Senex is currently operating natural gas wells north of Roma (Roma North) and near Wandoan (Atlas). Where possible, Senex prioritises applications from suitably qualified local candidates.

We have announced plans to triple our gas production to 60PJ annually by 2025 – that’s enough energy to power the equivalent of 2.7 million homes a year.

This expansion will create local jobs and invest more than $200 million back into our communities.

We are looking for talented individuals to join our team to help us deliver this bold expansion program to supply the domestic gas Australia needs to keep our lights on and our factories open.

Why we’re different:

  • You’re not just a number - we are a small company making a big impact.
  • Enjoy a family feel culture, where you are supported to develop your skills and make a difference.
  • Join a team who acts with integrity and authenticity in developing our relationships with local communities.

Meet some of our local team

  • Kristie Harth, Trainee Operator in Senex’s Atlas Field at Wandoan

“Senex has provided a great opportunity to learn in an industry that I wasn’t familiar with. Since starting here, I haven’t looked back.

I’m proud to work for Senex as they support the local Wandoan community through their sponsorship of the local school and kindergarten as well as events like the Show, Rodeo and Camel Races.”

  • Bronwen Watson, Field Coordinator and Team Administration Assistant based in Roma

“I’m constantly learning and being given opportunities to contribute and have been able to support all aspects of the business.

It’s been great to see the willingness to invest in young people through traineeships and graduate programs.

It’s wonderful to see Senex’s commitment, enthusiasm, and growth by investing in new local jobs and our community.”

  • Mark Foster, Supervisor Roma North Field

“Working for Senex I’m able to walk down the street in my uniform and feel accepted by the community.

When I worked for some other gas companies, I didn’t always feel welcome. Living and working locally I’ve loved being able to be home every night with my family. This job has allowed me to balance my time with my family cattle breeding program at home.”

  • Matt Foster, Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

“Senex has really allowed me to transform my career by giving me the technical training I needed to improve my knowledge and become a better instrumentation technician.

I like the technical challenge my job offers within the industry and the training that Senex provided me to increase my knowledge.

Senex has allowed me to start working a two and two lifestyle, so I’ve been able to play football and go camping and do the things I enjoy living locally in the Roma community.”
